Planning Applications
Whenever a completed project planning application is accepted for review by the Marin County Planning Department, the application details are posted on the County’s Community Development Department website page Projects by geographic location. Scroll down that page and click on “South San Rafael” where the current project applications related to our subdivision (and others) are listed.
Click on any entry to see detailed information on that application. If you wish to comment on any proposed project, such comments must be submitted in writing (e-mail is OK) to the County Planning Department. All comments are attached to the application which will be reviewed by planning staff and the planning commission and are considered in the approval process.
While a vast majority of the parcels with the Bayside Acres subdivision are within the County, it should be noted that a few parcels (roughly 16) have been annexed into the City of San Rafael for one reason or another over the years. Any planning project on those parcels would be found in the City of San Rafael website, not Marin County. For those parcels, go to the S.R. Community Development’s Online Records Search page. There you can look up a specific property by address or parcel number to see if there is a submitted planning project or permit on that property. You will need to go to the Parcel Maps page for instructions on how to locate parcel numbers. It’s not quite as easy or convenient as the County’s website.
Approved Permits
Once a planning application has been reviewed and approved by the Planning Department, a permit is issued for the work. At that point, the plan application is removed from the proposed planning list and added to the existing, approved permits. Information about approved permits can be found on the County’s Building Permits web page. It is a bit complicated to use and you might need to know the address of the property in question and possibly the year the permit was issued.
