I’ve scheduled our 2016 Spartina treatment in your area (Chicken Point) for next Tuesday August 9, beginning around 7am in the areas away from the houses.
Efficacy was pretty good from last year but the repeated backcrossing between the native and invasive out there sure makes identification and thorough detection of all the targets very challenging. On top of that, the multi-year drought kept some plants partially dormant. The good rainfall this winter has allowed some to bounce back, but if we can detect them then we can treat them, and hopefully continue a downward trajectory for this lingering infestation.
