November 5, 2012 Board Meeting

The Board met at David Tattersall’s home at 6:30 PM. Present were:  David Tattersall, Stuart Brown, Sue Wilhelm, Rick Hopper, Alan Schaevitz, Bill Gates, and Joe Tyszkiewicz.  Absent:  Mary Sinclair and Laurie Favaro.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the email David received from Greg Wasserman, Player Agent for the San Rafael Little League. The email asked for various revisions to the longstanding agreement between the BAHOA and the Little League, which is part of the San Rafael City Schools Board Policy 1330, “Youth Organizations”, specifically with regard to the LL fields at the Glenwood School. The reason is to accommodate growth in the SRLL’s number of players.

Key issues are neighborhood disturbance from the sound system and games and hours of field use on weekends.

After lengthy discussion it was decided to form a subcommittee of the Board, including Stu Brown, Sue Wilhelm, and Alan Schaevitz, to develop a response position. This will be circulated to the full Board for approval prior to the subcommittee’s meeting with LL representatives (Marc Lubarmersky and Greg Wasserman).

Other items:

  • David reported that progress on the Loch Lomond Marina development is stalled because the developer has requested an extension for due diligence payments, which Oak Tree is refusing to grant.
  • Stu reported that the April ballots for BAHOA directors included three comments:
    • Traffic on Point San Pedro Road is fast and dangerous; police presence is needed.
    • Drivers speed on Bayview Drive. Need a sign alerting them to people and animals.
    • Some drivers go too fast on Marine, Oak, and Beach Drives.
  • Sue reported on the pleasant path that has opened next to San Pedro Cove.

We adjourned the meeting at 7:45 pm.

Stuart Brown
Secretary
