Finding the Meagor’s-Updated

A Bayside Acres neighbor, Lisa Santora, brought an obituary to my attention, which resolves the question raised in the post I wrote below. An obituary in the Daily Independent Journal, a paper published in San Rafael from 1949 to 1974, stated that Mr. William Meagor died in 1957 and had lived the previous 9 years at “4 Beach road” [Drive now]. Below is that obituary followed by the original post asking for help and the Marin IJ post that raised the original question.

An article from the February 21, 2023 edition of the Marin IJ was brought to my attention by our friend and fellow Bayside Acres resident, Stu Brown. It was in the “History Watch” column and described a couple, William and Isabella Meager, who operated an auto garage in Ross in the early 20th century. As such, it is primarily a Ross history story.

However, at the end of that article, it stated that they eventually moved to Bayside Acres and “built a house out of redwood timber taken from the demolition of the original North pacific Coast Railroad station in Ross.” The full article can be read below.

It would be great to discover the house in Bayside Acres that they built (if it still exists) and any other information about them that might be available. Please email me with any information regarding this subject.
