Thank you to all the residents who signed up for Chipper Day held on August 27, 2020. There were over 21 residences that participated. Your preparation for and participation in this effort to improve defensible space has gone a long way in protecting our subdivision against a potential wildfire. Please keep up the good work. Also, please report any work you did or had done for this event or, for that matter, any work you have done related to home hardening or defensible space using the reporting form in the Firewise section of this website.
Thanks also to the Bayside Acres Firewise Team’s effort in obtaining Firewise USA status that led to the scheduling of this Chipper Day. Following are some photos of residences clearing dead trees, branches and other fire-prone growth, placing them street side and the subsequent collection of this debris by the chipper crew.
