The Annual BANA BBQ Summer Party on Sunday August 20 was very successful with attendance of over 50 people. Burgers and dogs were plentiful, the weather was perfect, and everyone appeared to have a good time. Neighbors met other neighbors for the first time, or became reacquainted after a long interval (some not since the last Summer Party before COVID!).
There were opening remarks from our long-serving President, David Tattersall. Then Julia Glenister, our Firewise Committee Chair, introduced Marin County Fire Department Battalion Chief Jordan Reeser who spoke about the various activities conducted in and around Bayside Acres to prepare for, and inhibit the spread of, wildfires. He pointed out sources for grants to do home hardening, which we have listed on our website page (near the bottom of the page), and he addressed questions from several residents. Our Bayside Acres neighbor Bonnie Marmor, Co-President of the Pt. San Pedro Road Coalition, spoke of the actions and activities of that organization and its committees, especially by the Disaster Preparedness committee.
Those of you who couldn’t make it missed a great opportunity to mingle with your friends and neighbors and learn about activities affecting our subdivision. Hopefully, that won’t be the case next year when we repeat the event. See you then!
