On Tuesday, February 7, a sewage spill estimated at 1,000 gallons occurred at the Beach Drive marsh. The spill was caused by a blockage further up the line in San Rafael. This was a one off spill and the cause has been fixed. The warning signs on Beach Drive will remain in place until next week. The Sanitation district indicated that the spill is being substantially mitigated by the high level of rain runoff and the king tides this week.
Avoid contact with the marsh water for the next few days.
