The following is an update from the San Rafael Police Dept:

Point San Pedro Area Burglary Series

San Rafael, CA – June 24, 2009.  San Rafael Police are investigating a rash of daytime burglaries in the residential neighborhoods located along Point San Pedro Road in east San Rafael.

The method of entry has typically been through unlocked or open windows or doors.  The burglaries have primarily occurred during daytime hours when the residents have not been at home.  However, some homes that are undergoing remodeling or construction have been targeted during the night.  The losses are mainly electronic items such as computers, cameras, and televisions.  Work tools have been taken from the homes undergoing remodeling.

SRPD reminds residents to secure their homes, even when leaving for just a short period of time, and to report any suspicious persons or vehicles in their neighborhoods.  Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call San Rafael Police at 415.485.3000 or Crime Stoppers at 800.222.TIPS (8477).  This phone number will accommodate all languages.  Callers can remain anonymous and may earn a possible reward.  Tips can also be made online at www.bayareacrimestoppers.com.
