SOLAR PANEL PROJECT

If you are interested in exploring the installation of solar equipment at your home, there is a group that has come together and have begun talking to solar contractors to create potentially large dollar discounts, where a critical mass of homeowners can be assembled who will commit to an installation. For more information, click here for a PDF document.  Also, see the announcement below of a meeting to be held on October 1, 2007 or contact Lisa Max at the telephone number or email address indicated below.

WHAT: Gosolarmarin meeting 1
WHO: Co-sponsored by MarinLink and Sustainable San Rafael
WHEN: Monday October 1, 2007 6:30-8pm
WHERE: Tamalpais Room, San Rafael Corporate Center
750 Lindaro Street, San Rafael, CA
(one block West of Lincoln Ave and South of Second St.)
WHY: Get Smarter—Go Solar

  • Share information, ask questions, get answers, express concerns, meet face to face; Dana Armanino, (a Planner for Marin County and a member of its Sustainability Team; among her areas of expertise she provides technical assistance on solar energy) will be there to help answer your questions. If you work with a solar provider, please come to answer general questions (but no sales-pitches at this time, please.)

  • Select a committee which will create a “request for proposal” to solar providers, and which can screen the responses and present the terms of received bids to the group.

If you come, you will not be making a final decision or a commitment to go solar. If you can’t be there, you can still be part of “the group.” My goal is to get us all to the next step, which will be to determine which companies want to and are able to provide solar installations for a group, at what price, and how quickly they can perform.

  • Space is limited! Please let me know if you can attend—a simple “yes” or “no” from your email address will do.
  • Please send me your questions NOW (if you know them) so I can have answers at the meeting.
  • I will email/contact all of you after the meeting with the questions asked and the answers given, so everyone will have the same information. You may want to check these websites for inspiration/information/ideas:
